About Us: Background – CONTRACT

The lifeline of the World-of-CONTRACT illustrates the various founding and further development dates of the foundation and the associated companies.

The CONTRACT Foundation is the holding company of the World-of-CONTRACT group. Its tasks include neutralizing the relevant capital shares in the participating companies, strategically developing the corporate group. We develop and ensure the ethical foundation of the ‘Humane Economy’. Under the term “Humane Economy,” we understand an ambitious, sustainable and socially as well as individually responsible way of doing business.

Why did we establish this foundation?

We, the initial founders and shareholders, did not want to sell or pass on the companies that are supported by the people working in them.
The CONTRACT Foundation thus aims to provide the participating companies with a chance for survival even after the founders and owners have stepped down. In coordination with the then-managing directors of CONTRACT GmbH, Franz-Josef Bartsch, Bettina Demmer, and Birgit Nawrath, we established a foundation holding in 2020.

The foundation has a connecting function across the various companies of the World of CONTRACT. It aims to strengthen and expand cohesion and cooperation within the group. It is about promoting people – because they make up the economy in our shared world. It steers the development of the group and preserves and develops the common ethical basis. Through the non-profit trust foundation CONTRACT Foundation, charitable projects can be promoted.

Through internal and external events such as the Foundation Day, lecture series, joint actions, or the projects of the Foundation, this should be made tangible.
